Energy Ooze
Glass bottles filled with tinctures and mixtures littered the shelves. The mortar and pestle was tinged with traces of herbs left behind. Arranging the brass devices, Tanner noted a slight bubble inflate and burst in his latest tonic, an unusual blend of Digitalis purpurea Juniper Catawba, pomegranate energy drink, and a dash of absorbent earth. The carbonated elements should have evaporated last night – when his energy drink accidently spilled into the pestle – yet bubbles were taking shape. Thick bubbles, sticky pops and clinging splatters, revealed an odd shifting underneath the surface that advanced toward the mouth of the glass decanter.

interesting interpretation of the image …. I like the imaginative use of the tools and objects and churning waters …. how your mind ended up in a lab …. modern day magic 😉

I’ve been hooked on science and experimentation lately. Seems to pop up here and there. Thanks for the thoughtful comment WildChild!

Ooh, the energy drink has a life of its own now. It’s alive! Great sci-fi take on this.

Thanks for the comment, Amy! I went over and had to cut, but I think there might be more story going on here – may broaden on Tanner’s journey in a character profile.

Eek, I think I’ll give this brew a miss and stick to plain old orange juice 🙂

I get a feeling of a bubble trouble… much like those witches on the moor… if by accident or not, with just an eye of newt, and the potion’s potency is ready.

Beware of these energy drinks with their mysterious ingredients. Who knows what happens if someone drinks that brews. Fun story.

Close, an alchemist. I think something bad happened to Tanner, and he is looking for a “natural remedy.” I can’t see his face yet, to determine what is off in his character. Manipulation of the natural world indicates that he’s not satisfied, I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Thanks for the comment, I B Arora!

A good mystery story, MW. Wasn’t Flubber created somewhat in that way? Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne
